The Garden Crew is a landscape gardening and design company based in Kilifi, Kenya. For more than two decades we've designed, created and cared for gardens across the Kenyan coast.
Our work combines creative design, extensive plant knowledge and a practical understanding of the coastal environment. Whether you envision a lush tropical garden, colourful planting, a structured rock garden or a calm green landscape, we can bring it to life.
Creating a successful coastal garden requires more than selecting attractive plants. It requires an understanding of the climate, soil, sunlight, water, salt exposure and the conditions surrounding each property. With more than 20 years of local experience, we understand what works, where it works, and how to create gardens that remain beautiful as they grow.
The Garden Crew was founded by Nicky Morrell, whose creativity and passion for plants have guided the company for more than 20 years. Nicky is the creative force behind every Garden Crew project.
She works closely with clients to understand their ideas and personally guides the design direction before working with her team to bring each garden to life. Her experience, local knowledge and instinct for planting allow her to see the potential in a space and create gardens that feel established, natural and connected to their surroundings.
Nicky is supported by a close-knit team of more than ten gardeners. Many members have worked with The Garden Crew for over a decade, building extensive practical knowledge and a clear understanding of the standard expected on every project.
Together, the team combines creative direction, plant knowledge and hands-on experience to execute and maintain gardens across Kilifi and the Kenyan coast.
We don't apply the same formula to every property. Each garden is designed around its environment, purpose and the people who will experience it.

Our Bofa nursery offers a variety of plants for gardens, properties and landscaping projects, with a particular focus on indigenous species. You don't need to book a full landscaping project to purchase plants, customers are welcome to visit and buy directly.
